Altai territory Governor Alexander Karlin on April 6 took part in an expanded meeting of agribusiness club in Moscow. He spoke about the development of agriculture. According to him, in region the volume of production of agricultural products since the beginning of implementation of the national project to support agriculture grew 1.6 times.

The Governor stressed that the region has strengthened its position as the largest agricultural region in the East, remaining a leader in the production of grain, milk, beef, flour, cereals, macaroni products, cheeses, butter, vegetable oil. To improve the situation in agriculture was helped by new approaches to government support. Since 2006 on the development of agriculture and rural territories in the region, the government sent more than 56 billion rubles, said Alexander Karlin. "A significant part of resources was directed at technical and technological modernization of the industry, the development of elite seed farming and livestock breeding", – he added. As informs a press-service of the Governor, the meeting also presented a book "the Priority directions of development of agroindustrial complex of Russia". Among its authors – the Governor Alexander Karlin, the Minister of agriculture of Belarus Alexander Tkachev, the Chairman of Committee of Federation Council for agrarian and food policy Mikhail Schetinin.
