From the regional budget of the Sogd region of Tajikistan allocated 300 thousand somoni ($34 million) to the fight against locusts and other agricultural pests, according to the April 12 "Tajikta" with reference to regional administration.

The administration noted that to prevent the spread of locusts and prevention of diseases of agricultural crops in Sughd region was created regional headquarters to combat pests.

According to the administration, the locust is the most dangerous pest, therefore, is created in the Republic institution "Expedition locust control", which has branches in all regions.

Earlier, on 20 February in Dushanbe was held a meeting of staff on plant protection and locust control and other insect pests. During the meeting the Minister of agriculture of Tajikistan, Izatullo storiespamela have to take measures to improve the efficiency of pest control.
