Volgograd GK "Clean city" started the construction of the first in the Rostov region waste processing complex, it is located a few kilometers from Volgodonsk. The new facility, worth about 1 billion rubles, will complete before the end of the year, said Friday in a press-service of the company.

The first stone at the construction site of the new facility was laid on Friday, the Deputy Governor of the Rostov region Sergey Sydash and Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Clean city" Polina vergun.

"The new facility will be a reference for using inter-municipal environmental othodopererabatyvayuschego complex (MAAC), will serve the 10 surrounding municipalities and allow you to achieve the share of the utilization and disposal of up to 60%. This figure is one of the highest in Russia. The projected investment in the project will amount to about 1 billion rubles," - said the press service.

There's also noted that the structure of the project, in addition to the landfill includes a waste sorting complex, equipped with optical sensors for the selection of secondary raw materials according to types and colors, the site biocompatible, as well as complex for recycling of plastic waste. Special attention is paid to protection of groundwater and groundwater from ingress of pollutants for that use of modern impervious screens. The power of the inter-municipal waste processing complex will be 1.2 million cubic meters per year. Completion planned for the end of this year.

GK "Clean city" was one of the first companies in Russia, which has undertaken reforms to waste management. Today, the status of the regional operator, the company works in the Rostov, Astrakhan and Arkhangelsk regions, as well as in Adygea and Kalmykia. The company has already built and operates a modern MSW landfills, in particular in the Volgograd region and Republic Kalmykia.
