The President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite today, may 7, was presented to the Prime Minister put forward the candidate on a post of the Minister of agriculture Giedrius Surplys, reported IA REGNUM in the office of the President of Lithuania. Grybauskaite will take the decision regarding the appointment of the Minister.

The President met with Surplices and discussed with him the situation in the sphere of agriculture of Lithuania.

As one of the main tasks the President named upcoming negotiations with the European Commission on the question of long-term financial prospects 2020-2027.

According to the President, it is essential that the measures of the common agricultural policy of the EU guarantee to the Lithuanian farmers the same competitive conditions in the internal EU market and contribute to strengthening the vitality of rural areas of Lithuania.

The President also drew attention to the increased transparency of land management, to the payments the EU provides only for land used lawfully and to the acquisition of land was not perestaralas established in the law allowed the face. Therefore, the National land service, controlling this process in the near future will have to provide additional legislative tools. All public land must be completely inventoried and counted.

Another task for the candidate is to consolidate the autonomy of the farmers, because in solving the critical agricultural issues require the unified voice of the farmers. Only by mutual agreement can agree on a relationship of large and medium-sized farms, to encourage cooperation, thus regulating the tax system to agricultural maps of Lithuania did not disappear small and medium-sized households.

At the meeting it was discussed that now the Ministry of agriculture and subordinate institutions he is waiting for reorganization.
