In Kyrgyzstan for the period from January to June of 2018, the farmers supplied more than 10.3 thousand credits for total amount of 4 billion 615 million soms (about 4.3 billion). It is 35% more than in 2017,said Deputy agriculture Minister Zhanybek of Karamaliev at a press conference.

According to him, this money 1 billion 117 million soms (over 1 billion) aimed at the development of crop production, an additional 2.6 billion soms (2.4 billion) issued to livestock, and more than 845 million soms (about 0.8 billion rubles) received by the borrowers under the program "Processing".

A senior official also noted that the harvest of agricultural products in Kyrgyzstan increases annually due to the increase in acreage, which now account for 1 million 215 thousand hectares.

According to the Deputy Minister, over the past five years, the area of unused arable land declined by almost 39%, from 110 thousand to 67.3 thousand hectares.

IA REGNUM reminds that by the end of 2017, the nominal gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan amounted to approximately 521 billion soms (over 482,3 billion at current exchange rates). The contribution of agriculture to the economy has reached 64 billion 225,1 million soms (over to 59.4 billion) or 12.3% of GDP.

Note that the farmers of Kyrgyzstan provide internal demand in meat, 65%. The Republic still remains dependent on imports of other basic products — flour, vegetable oil, sugar, eggs and fruit.
