The Minister for water resources and fisheries of Indonesia Susi of Pujiastuti said that during her tenure as a Minister about 10 thousand fishing vessels were apprehended for illegal fishing. It is reported by Antaranews.

"Indonesia is a Maritime power. Our seas are widely scattered. Our fish was kidnapped for several years by this illegal fishing," said the Minister.

The Minister noted that illegal fishing is reduced. In 2017 the national fishery increased the catch of fish from 6.5 million tonnes to 12.5 million tonnes.
