In the Orenburg region the Italian delegation invited local farmers to grow for export of durum wheat. The project will begin buying grain if the grade is "Rusticana" corresponding to international requirements, will be cultivated in Russia, told the correspondent of IA REGNUM in the Ministry of agriculture of the Orenburg region.

The foreign delegation has appreciated the territory of the Orenburg region as a platform for the cultivation of durum wheat. The Italian delegation proposes to produce high-quality seed of the varieties of durum wheat "Rusticana" deduced on the Russian market "agro-League of Russia".

It should be noted that the Orenburg region is one of the main suppliers of high-quality grain of spring hard wheat in Russia. In the Orenburg region the most favorable conditions for the formation of grain yield of durum wheat with high grain quality meets the requirements of macaroni and other food industry. Hard wheat produced in the Eastern zone of the region, has increased quality. Orenburg Urals supplies to the Russian market, over 80% of durum wheat from the grain produced.

Italy is interested in high quality of imported grain. The sort of "Rusticana" is the most popular brand in Italy and refers to a potentially high-quality varieties with gluten index over 90%, vitreousness more than 22%, protein up to 17-18%. Italy produces grains of hard wheat 4.5 million tonnes, but still the same imports, mainly from Canada.

During the dialogue, which from the Orenburg region was attended by acting Minister of agriculture, food and processing industry Valery Novozhenin and representatives of the scientific communities of the region, discussed the possibility of grain production and varieties of local selection of "proud" that shows good results.

Meanwhile, several farms of the Orenburg region has begun to grow "Rusticana". In 2019, will begin deliveries of grain durum wheat for the company Barilla. She is one of the world leaders in the production of pasta. Her participation in the Alliance for the implementation of the project on hard wheat guarantees the market.
