The Acron group, one of the leading vertically integrated mineral fertiliser producers in Russia and worldwide, on-site in Veliky Novgorod is implementing a project to increase the capacity of the unit "Ammonia-4" up to 2500 t/day, which is 21% above the original design capacity. Investment in the project will amount to 25 million US dollars.

At the moment the measures jointing "bottlenecks", which allowed the unit to work stably with a capacity of 2300 MT/day even in conditions of high ambient temperatures. Among the main works – installation of two cooling towers VI-14 and VI-14C, additional air coolers, new heat exchange equipment and the pump the production of ammonia. For energy efficiency updated boiler STEAM-100. In the cold production case "Ammonia-4" will be heated by utilizing the heat upornogo own condensate.

The complex already held events invested 5 million US dollars. In 2019, an important step will be the installation of the main technological equipment – large-sized reactor KRES. The vehicle, weighing more than 150 tons, with a height of 18 m and a diameter of 3.2 m will arrive in Veliky Novgorod on the industrial site of JSC "Akron" in the summer of 2019.

Base the project on modernization of the unit executes a Danish firm, HTS. Now the company is the development of basic technical solutions. Detailed design for the project "Ammonia-2500" carried out by the specialists of LLC "Novgorod GIAP".

The completion of the modernization project unit "Ammonia-4" and starting operations with the increased workload scheduled for mid 2020. They will be combined with the first overhaul of the unit, which works based on the four-year cycle of the run.

In the first half of 2018, the release of ammonia unit "Ammonia-4" amounted to 417 thousand tons, which is 7% more than last year. Total volume since start of production in late July of 2016 amounted to 1 625 thousand tons. Increase the capacity to 2500 tons/day will significantly increase production capacity in all the industrial site of JSC Acron in Veliky Novgorod and to increase the production of nitrogen and complex fertilizers.
