Due to late sowing, the pace of the harvest in the Altai region remain low: the farmers just finished harvesting of winter crops. According to the regional Ministry of agriculture on August 27, the farms in the region threshed 869 thousand tons of grain. That's the number received from 12% of harvested areas.

We will remind, a year ago, at the end of August 2017, grains and legumes in the region was threshed with 26% of the area, and the gross grain harvest exceeded 1.6 million tons. But the same as a year ago, farmers are concerned about the low price of the harvested produce. According to "Krestyanskie Vedomosti", now per ton of wheat of 3 class in the Siberian Federal district do not give more 8000-9150 rubles, while in the South for the same product pay 12 000-14 950 rubles.

In General, according to operational data of the agricultural administrative bodies of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as of August 27, 2018 grains and leguminous crops in Russia throughout the areas of 25.8 million ha, or 55.4% of the cultivated area (in 2017 — 23.0 million ha). Produced 76,1 million tons of grain (in 2017 85.2 million tons), with a yield of 29.5 q/ha, which is 7.5 kg/ha less than on the same date last year (in 2017 — 37 kg/ha).
