Senior researcher of Department of safety of feed and feed additives Dmitry Makarov presented a report entitled "Activities of the Russian Federation, the fgbi "VGNKI" to combat antibiotic resistance in the veterinary field". Dmitry Makarov told about one of the priority directions of scientific-research work VGNKI – credit monitoring and risk analysis of resistance of zoonotic bacteria to antimicrobial means.

Head of Department food safety Paul metal'nikov made a report on the activities of the VGNKI in part of the chemical safety of food products. In his speech Pavel hospitality, love drew attention to the unique Russian research projects VGNKI, for example: development of methods for analysis of toxic compounds of arsenic and mercury in aquaculture products, development of methods for the determination of persistent chemical pollutants in food products, and more. Head of the Department for sanitary and clinical Microbiology Anastasia Ashour spoke about modern methods of microbiological analysis of food products in the Russian Federation.

Another report, presented by the Cuban delegation, was dedicated in VGNKI developed the methodology for species identification of fish. Deputy head of the Department of molecular biology Irina Solinska told about the practical value of the new technique, which allows to determine the falsification even in multi-component products – canned fish and processed foods.

Questions of representatives of the Ministry of agriculture of the Republic of Cuba were linked to the geography of food samples entering the study in VGNKI, role VGNKI in terms of quality control of imported veterinary drugs sold on the territory of Russia, and other aspects of the work of the Centre.

According to the approved programme, from 18 to 26 September, Cuban experts will conduct an inspection of the Russian cattle-breeding enterprises, which will visit the Belgorod, Oryol and Kaliningrad region. As mentioned above, the Cuban colleagues visited VGNKI, and other of the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate institution – ARRIAH, to review the measures taken by the Rosselkhoznadzor to prevent the spread of dangerous animal diseases and the safety of exported products.
