The subject of the agreement is unification of efforts to promote the development of agricultural insurance, carried out with state support, with the objective of establishing an effective and sustainable development of agriculture of the Russian Federation, reliable food supply of the country.

"With the signing of the agreement, the NSA hopes to strengthen cooperation and to obtain feedback from farmers, which will help to offer the farming adapted to its needs, the conditions of agricultural insurance with state support, – said the President of the NSA. – This applies particularly to small and medium farmers, which are currently weakly involved into a single system of agricultural insurance ".

According to the Bank of Russia and the NSA, on the market of the Nizhny Novgorod region in the 1st half of 2018 worked for 6 insurance companies. They made 1,3 thousand contracts of agricultural insurance. The volume of the agricultural insurance market in Nizhny Novgorod region in the 1st half of 2018 was 11.3 million rubles.

For the period of validity of the law on state support of agricultural insurance in 2012 economy of the Nizhny Novgorod region received insurance payments in the amount of 495 million rubles.

From 1 January 2016 at the market of agricultural insurance with state support is a single national Association, the national Union of agricultural insurers. Insurance companies, who are members of NSA do not have the right to enter into contracts of insurance with state support. The creation of a centralized system of agricultural insurance in the Russian Federation is provided by Federal law 22.12.2014 No. 424-FZ on amendments to the Law "On state support in agricultural insurance..." №260-FZ.
