According to representatives of the Ministry of agriculture, the region has already approved the program of development of agriculture until 2019-2024., which plan to allocate 6.6 billion. By 2020, the region plans to set targets for agricultural insurance, not only for crop production and animal husbandry: one of the trends that will develop in Irkutsk oblast, is aquaculture. According to plans, the region plans to raise the level of agricultural insurance by 20% by 2020.

About the upcoming changes in legislation, as well as about the importance of insurance as a risk management tool of agricultural production, representatives of the NSA.

"The leadership of the Irkutsk region have repeatedly expressed commitment to changes in the region of the views of farmers on the agricultural products insurance, as this is a matter of national importance. NSA stands ready to support the authorities of the agricultural sector, which the Union signed an agreement to promote the development of agricultural insurance, – said K. Bizhdov. – In the spring of next year, the NSA and the Ministry of agriculture planned to hold another joint outreach event for farmers in the region."

For the period of validity of the law on state support of agricultural insurance from 2012 to 2018, the farmers of the Irkutsk region received the insurance payment in the amount of 724 million rubles.

Insurance companies, who are members of NSA do not have the right to enter into contracts of insurance with state support. The creation of a centralized system of agricultural insurance in the Russian Federation is provided by Federal law 22.12.2014 No. 424-FZ on amendments to the Law "On state support in agricultural insurance..." №260-FZ.
