Today in the region in the insurance market selkhozizdat are 4 insurance companies, which on November 1 of the current year signed contracts crop insurance with an area of 3.4 thousand hectares, representing about 9% of the total cultivated area of the region, and insured 324 thousand head of farm animals. Farmers Yakutia insurance not enough funds, I therefore, the region in 2017 has increased the share of subsidies in the payment of the insurance premium – as a result farmers of the Republic will receive almost 95% of the cost of insurance.

"NSA has proposed to organize jointly with the Ministry of agriculture of the Republic project for the development of agricultural insurance in Yakutia, – said the President of the NRA of the Roots of biggov.- To increase demand for insurance for the Yakut farmers need to develop a special program that best meets the conditions of agricultural production in order to minimize their risks in case of crop failure. Also, the NSA and the Ministry of agriculture of the Republic plan to hold a joint outreach event for farmers in the region in the spring of next year."

For the period of validity of the law on state support of agricultural insurance from 2012 to 2018, insurers have made payments to the farmers of Yakutia in the amount of 55 million rubles. Payments made on risks "atmospheric drought" (62%), "waterlogged soil" (26%), "freeze (12%). The Republic is seriously subject to some systematic natural risks – in particular, the result of the spring flood in this year was introduced a state of emergency in 3 areas (Amginsky, Ust-Maisky, Churapchinsky ulus), which affected more than 5.4 million hectares.

Special attention of the NSA will be paid to the specific problems and needs identified by the leadership of the Republic, in particular, deserves discussion the need to adjust criteria for the occurrence of the insured event in Yakutia.

Insurance companies, who are members of NSA do not have the right to enter into contracts of insurance with state support.
