The agreement provides for the joint efforts of the two companies in the following main activities:

- ensuring safety in railway transport; monitoring compliance with Federal laws, normative legal acts of the Russian Federation and internal documents of JSC "RZD" and LLC "RK "Novotrans" for the issues of traffic safety;

- prevention of transport accidents and other events related to the violation of safety rules of movement and operation of railway transport;

- improved reliability of technical means and their maintenance in good condition;

- investigation of causes and circumstances of accidents and other events related to the violation of safety rules of movement and operation of railway transport.

According to the document, RK "Novotrans" undertakes to assist the JSC "RZD" in audits of the safety and technology of repair of freight cars, their units and parts at its plants, to report on measures taken to eliminate deficiencies, as well as together with JSC "Russian Railways" to investigate violations of traffic safety of trains, for which it is responsible.

OAO RZD, in turn, will assist in the establishment of a system of traffic safety management in company "RK "Novotrans", training of managers and specialists, as well as in the dissemination of best practices to ensure safety. In addition, JSC "RZD" and "RK "Novotrans" have agreed about coordination of projects of local regulations relating to areas of work, organizational and methodological documents, standards, rules, instructions in the field of safety of movement of trains.

In the Republic of Kazakhstan "Novotrans" confident that the alignment of the joint with JSC "Russian Railways" control systems safety will provide guaranteed risk reduction in all elements of the production process.
