"Last year his crop amounted to more than 113 million tons, significantly exceeding the annual average for the last five years. This year we can collect at least 118 million tonnes of grain, including 75-78 million tons of wheat," wrote Patrushev.

He also noted that now Russia is a significant exporter of food: the country has ranked first in the world for the supply of wheat. "In addition, Russia is among the leaders in the supply of fish, sunflower oil, opens and is actively conquering new foreign markets for its poultry, dairy, confectionery and other goods," the Minister added.

The grain harvest in Russia in 2018 totaled 113,255 million tons, including 72,136 million tons of wheat. Grain exports from Russia in 2017-2018 crop year (1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018) $ 52,422 million tons, including 40,449 million tons of wheat.

Russia at the end of the last agricultural year ranked first in the world in wheat exports, overtaking both the US and the EU. The Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation expects that in the current season grain exports from Russia will amount to 42 million tonnes of wheat and 37 million tons.
