Experts of the Ukrainian Institute of examination of plant varieties (UISR) has developed an open reference system of plant varieties "Variety" that contains information about more than 10 thousand varieties of plants, the press service of the Ministry of agrarian policy and food.

The report notes that the information and reference system "Variety" was developed by specialists UESR and running a month ago. The system is available to all interested persons and contains more than 10 thousand varieties of plants are represented in the Register of plant varieties of Ukraine.

"Scientific-technical examination of plant varieties is a prerequisite for effective agricultural production, and especially crop production. Therefore, the scientific activity of the Institute, the digitalization of its system, as well as synchronization of information contained in national registries with the international are very important for further development of the industry", — the press service quoted the words of acting Minister of agrarian policy and food Olga Trofimciuc.

According to Trofimovoj, given the technical and scientific base, which now owns UESR, as well as highly qualified staff, the Institute has all the conditions and great potential to be a leading expert institution to conduct the state scientific and technical examination of plant varieties.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in September of 2018, the Cabinet approved the establishment of a public register of plant varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine.
