In the Kaluga region in 2019 remains positive growth trend in the number of farm animals. On 11 April, told the correspondent of IA REGNUM in the regional Ministry of agriculture.

According agricultural Department, on April 1 in the agricultural region there were 159,6 thousand head of cattle, or 117% by 2018. The increase for the year amounted to more than 23 thousand heads.

Significantly increased the number of livestock of cattle in Ferzikovo (8453 heads, or 71% compared to last year), Sukhinichi (4465 heads, or 44%), Spas-Demensk (4126 heads, or 73%), Mosalsk (3604, 98%), Koselska (2793, 29%) and Babyninskaya (2767, or 30%) regions.

The number of cows in the agricultural organizations of the region amounted to 66 thousand heads, which is 16% more than in 2018. The number of cows the dairy herd is 45 thousand heads. The number of cows of the meat direction of productivity in the agricultural organizations amounted to 21 thousand heads.

Today in the region there is a positive trend to increase the number of pigs. As of April 1, 2019, it amounted to 64.6 thousand heads, or 104% by 2018. Also 12% (7,9 thousand heads) increased the number of sheep and goats.
