"Space monitoring system used in NSA to evaluate the status of green mass of plants, observed by satellites, the so-called vegetation index. According to the June 7 marked the decline to a negative level of 0.3 – 0.4 was observed in almost all areas adjacent to the border with Kazakhstan, – says the President of the NRA of the Roots of biggov. – In the area of the impact of adverse natural factors that slowed the growth of plants, are located East and center of the Volgograd region, East of Saratov, the center and East of the Orenburg region, South of Omsk and Novosibirsk regions, and more than half of the territory of the Altai territory. In addition, certain of concern is the condition of crops in the South of the Samara region. This is confirmed by comparative data: the lag in the development of crops, which was estimated by the vegetation index in the period from 24 may to 7 June in these areas ranged from 5 to 20% of the long-term average. The biggest concern for today inspires the situation in the Orenburg region and Altai Krai, in each of which more than 10 districts were in the "red zone" with the delay in the development of plants at 10-20% of decade norm."

The beginning of the agricultural season suggests the possibility of implementing this year a variety of scenarios, including negative ones. "The specialists of the NSA noticed that the comparative analysis of the current situation with the crops, and similar data as of June 7, 2010 gives a very similar picture – said the President of the NSA. Coverage of adverse factors, primarily soil moisture deficit up to the end of the season can be extended".

At the conference on 10 June a report from the NSA was represented by the head of Department of insurance examination and space monitoring Vladimir Shuster. He told about practice of application of tools of space monitoring in the practice of NSA. In 2016, these technologies are provided by the Union on a free basis to all insurance companies that are members of NSA and is also used for the analysis and examinations within the framework of the Union solve problems. Currently, the NSA uses the products of the company Geosys Europe and the Institute of space research. In may 2019 the ECA and ICA RAS concluded the cooperation agreement aimed at further development of domestic space technologies for the purposes of insurance.
