The draft law proposes to oblige the government to freeze retail prices for socially important products in their appreciation of over 30% per month. Regions also want to be empowered to control prices of goods. The cost of food in the stores should not exceed producer prices by more than 50%, and wholesalers — 20%. We are talking about the price of meat, butter, eggs, bread, cereals and other foods.

The big retailers are showing social responsibility and waive costs for important products, noted in the FAS, explaining his position. As noted in X5 Retail Group, the increase in the cost of the goods takes place only in case of substantiated reasons on the part of suppliers.
