Russia: Spring grain crops were sown on the area of 11.2 million hectares, or 38.4% of the area

According to operational data of the agricultural administrative bodies of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as of may 7, 2020 in the whole country of 18.3 million hectares are fed up 15 million hectares or 82.2% of the sowing areas of winter crops (in 2019 – 13.8 million hectares).

Spring sowing is carried out on an area of 18.7 million ha, or 36% of the forecasted area (2019 – 17.6 million ha).

Including in the southern Federal district spring sowing carried out on an area of 3.2 million hectares, or 56.6% of the forecast (2019 – 3.2 million hectares) in the North Caucasian Federal district – 1.3 million hectares or 66,1% of the forecast (2019 – 1.2 million hectares) in the Central Federal district – 6.4 million ha, or 68.2 per cent of the forecast, in the Volga Federal district is 5.4 million ha or 34.6% of the forecast, in the North-West Federal district – 98,8 thousand hectares or 21.4% of the forecast, in the far Eastern Federal district – 307,4 thousand hectares or 13% of the forecast (2019 – 269,2 thousand hectares), in the Siberian Federal district – 1.7 million ha or 13.6% of the forecast (2019 – 717 thousand hectares), in the Urals Federal district – 357 thousand ha or 8.2% of the forecast ( 2019 – 105.9 thousand hectares).

Spring grain crops in the whole country was sown on the area of 11.2 million hectares, or 38.4% of the forecasted area (2019 – 10.5 million hectares).

Of these, spring wheat was sown on the area 2.8 million ha or 23% of the forecast area (2019 – 2.3 mln ha), spring barley – by 4.4 million hectares or 55.6% of the forecasted area, corn for grain and 1.7 million ha or 63.1% of the forecasted area (2019 – 1.5 million ha), rice – 91 thousand ha, or 46.1 per cent of the forecasted area (2019 – to 89.2 thousand hectares).

Sugar beet (factory) were sown 835,8 hectares or 88.5 per cent of the forecast area.

Flax was sown on the area of 6,5 thousand ha or 13.4% of the forecasted area.

Sunflower planted on an area of 3.5 million ha or 43.3% of the forecasted area (2019 – 2.8 million hectares).

Spring rape was sown 333,3 thousand ha or 25.8% of the forecast area.

Soybeans were sown to 587,6 thousand hectares or 18.5% of the forecast area.

Potatoes in the agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) planted on the square 90,4 thousand ha or 29.3% of the forecasted area (2019 – 78,9 thousand hectares).

Sowing vegetables in agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) conducted on the area to 80.1 thousand ha or 43.1% of the forecasted area (2019 – 48.2 thousand ha).
