As reported OilWord.ru according to some European analysts, the production of rapeseed in the EU in 2016 will be reduced to 21.2-21.4 million tons against 22 million tons a year earlier.

In particular, in Poland, the gross harvest of oilseeds could be reduced to 2.45-2.5 million tons (-22%) due to early frost and winter cold snaps in late April, when in some regions of the country, the rape has already entered the stage of flowering.

In France it is expected a slight reduction in the harvest of olives due to destruction of crops fungal disease and insects. In this regard, analysts ODA has lowered the forecast of rapeseed production in the country, from 5.4 to 5.2 million tonnes against 5.3 million tonnes in 2015.

In the UK also predicted a slight lowering of the amount of harvest due to reduction in cultivated area under rapeseed by 10% per year due to low demand for oilseeds processors. In addition, the projected reduction in crop yield due to its destruction by pests.

At the same time, in Germany the rapeseed crop may increase by 0.6% to 5.03 million tons, because of the recent frosts did not cause significant harm to the culture.
