Production of crude palm oil in Indonesia in April fell to its lowest level in last 14 months due to forest fires and drought caused by weather phenomenon El niño. It is reported by the AGN. Reuters.

According to preliminary data, the volume of palm oil production in April amounted to 2,132 million tons. This is slightly below the March figure of 2.15 million tonnes, however, a gradual decline in the production lasts for the eighth month because of the drought caused by El niño. Improvement is not expected before July.

Olam International analysts predict a decline in palm oil production in Indonesia to 2016 by 2 million tons.
