Altai Krai is expecting high yields of grain crops. However, the grain harvest, local farmers are forced to periodically suspend due to bad weather. In addition to problems with the harvest, Altai farmers are concerned about its quality.

"The rains have definitely increased the level of productivity, but may affect the quality of the grain. Then protein, and gluten is less", — said the head of the Department of agrometeorology of the Altai CGMS Elena Yanova.

Farmers say that in Uglovskoe and Kulunda areas where wheat had to sow at the end of April, the culture reached full ripeness. At the April barley crops is also dominated by a full ripening. Places are already ripe and oats.

According to the observations of experts of agrometeorology of the wheat grown is of good quality and satisfactory. The observation of this culture are of the weather station in 25 districts. Excellent condition of the crops recorded on only one field in Ust-Pristanskiy district.

"If good weather is established, the crop can be obtained. Yes, the loss in quality but not in quantity. A bad year can not be called by volumes it will be higher in 2015", — said Elena Yanova.

In the regional Department of agriculture said that the grain harvest in the region started in late July. Started harvesting of winter crops, peas and barley. Cereals were sown this year 3637 hectares. As of 4 August in the Altai territory managed to remove only 1% from the planned volume. The Agency confirmed that due to the past rains farm equipment can't go out in the field.
