In the southern, North-Caucasian, Central, Volga and far Eastern Federal districts continue spring field work.

As at 28 March 2017 in the Russian Federation fueled 6.9 million ha (2016 – 7.7 million hectares), or 40% of the sowing area of winter crops. Including in the southern Federal district – 4.0 million hectares, or 64.8 per cent of the sowing area in the North Caucasian Federal district – 1,2 million hectares or 52.3% of the sowing areas in the Central Federal district -1,8 mln ha, or 45.3 per cent of the sowing area in the Volga Federal district, Komi was up RUR 207.4 hectares or 4.6% of the sowing areas in the northwestern Federal district (Kaliningrad oblast) to 21.7 thousand ha or 21.7% of the sowing areas. In the Krasnodar Krai and Republic of Adygeya carried out a re-dressing of winter grain crops.

Spring sowing in the whole country held on the square 761,5 thousand hectares or 1.4% of the forecast (2016 – 836,0 thousand hectares), including the sowing areas of spring crops totaled 536,8 thousand ha or 1.7% of the forecast (2016 – 613,4 thousand hectares).

In the southern Federal district spring sowing is conducted on the area 547,0 thousand hectares or 8.8% of the forecast (2016 – 504,1 thousand hectares). In the North Caucasian Federal district – 194,9 thousand hectares or 10.9% of the forecast (2016 – 305,2 thousand hectares). In the Central Federal district of 18.8 thousand ha or 0.2% of the forecast (2016 – 26.0 thousand hectares). The far Eastern Federal district spring sowing carried out on an area of 0.8 thousand hectares (in 2016 – 0.7 thousand ha).

In the Krasnodar territory and the Chechen Republic have started sowing sugar beet seed of 15.1 thsd ha (8.2% of the forecast) and 0.1 thousand hectares (1.7% of the forecast), respectively.

In the Chechen Republic have started sowing sunflower for grain, planted 1.1 million hectares or 11% of the forecast (2016 – 0,9 thousand hectares).

In Krasnodar Krai, Republic of Crimea, Rostov and Astrakhan regions agricultural companies have started sowing early vegetables, whole, seeded 7,1 thousand hectares or 3.5% of the forecast (2016 – 11.0 thousand ha).

In the Republics of Adygea, Crimea, Kabardino-Balkaria, Rostov and Astrakhan regions in the agricultural enterprises started planting early potatoes, planted 2.4 thousand ha or 0.7% of the forecast (2016 – 1.6 million hectares).
