In the second half of the 2016/17 season, Russia continued to export flour in small amounts. In the first eight months of the current season flour exports from the country amounted to 108,8 thousand tons, which is 35.7% less than was exported in the same period last season (169,2 thousand tons).

The drop in exports comes amid a reduction of its production – minus 6.5% for the reporting period or the 6.35 million tons.

However, since the beginning of the season, China had become a key importer of Russian flour, increasing its purchase by 18.8% to 43 million tons. This is recognis value.

For the rest of the markets, respectively, a significant reduction in shipments. In particular, the market is the main importer of Russian flour in last season's UAE – to 23.7 thousand tonnes, or 26%. Exports in Georgia decreased in three and a half times (up to 6.5 thousand tons).
