By 20 may the Paraguayan corn in the amount of 61 thousand tons will be delivered to the port of Wilmington (NC). The probable buyer of a large batch of corn is Smithfield Foods.

It will be the largest consignment of imported maize in the entire history of purchases from Paraguay in the United States. In 2013 this country was imported 49,54 thousand tons of corn.

At the moment, stocks of this culture in the United States are at a high level. As of March 1 of the current year, its reserves amounted to 219 million tons.
