The decrease in imports of soybean meal in September-may 2016/17 MG led to a significant reduction of stock in the EU by the beginning of June. However, despite this trend, the European refiners boost purchases of large lots of products waiting for entering the market a significant volume of Brazilian soy meal that will put further pressure on global prices that are already evolving in a bearish trend.

In General in the coming months are expected to intensify imports of meal to the EU, however, at the end of the current season (September-August), the figure is only 14.2-14.3 million tons, which is 0.7 million tonnes below the result of 2015/16.

Key suppliers of soybean meal in the EU countries according to the results in 2016/17 MG will remain Brazil and the United States, but shipments from these States will be reduced to 5.5 million tons (down 0.6 million tons) and 5 million tons (-0,4 million tons), respectively.

At the same time, will increase imports of soybean meal from Paraguay, Canada, Ukraine, and Serbia. Also slightly increase the volume of purchases of the product from India, China, Moldova and Russia.
