Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro plans to discuss with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, the increase in imports of wheat from Russia up to 100 thousand tons per month.

He stated this on Thursday at a meeting of the Constitutional Assembly, which is broadcasted in the TV channel Venezolana de Television. "I will speak with Putin very soon I'm going to Moscow - to bring them (supply – ed.) up to 100 thousand tons", — he said. As noted by Maduro, according to the current agreements, Venezuela will be delivered 60 thousand tons per month.

The first shipment of wheat from Russia, the volume of which amounted to 30 thousand tonnes, came in the South American Republic last week. As previously reported by TASS in the southern customs Department, with the start of deliveries of the Russian Federation sent to Venezuela grain in the amount of $6.27 million
