The purchase price was $198-200/t FOB ($213-214/t C&F). In the previous tender 2 weeks ago, it was purchased 175 TMT of Russian wheat at $195-198/MT FOB.
 
Other supplier countries were uncompetitive. The cheapest wheat from Romania were offered at $205/ton, the only offer from France - $210/t (FOB). Earlier in courts of wheat from Romania and France, the Egyptian phytosanitary authorities found poppy seeds and refused to accept them. Later, the party was admitted into the country.
 
Egypt is traditionally the largest buyer of Russian wheat. At the end of last season the country imported 6.7 million tons with the total Russian exports at 27.8 million tonnes.
