To 2025/26 MG Russia's share in world trade of vegetable oils may rise to 15%
By the end of 2016/17 MG Russia exported a record in the modern history of the state, 2.9 million tons of vegetable oils, and the season of 2025/26, this figure could reach 5.4 million tons, which will allow the country to increase its share in world trade of the products from the current 11% to 15%

This forecast was voiced by the Director for strategic development of the Group of Companies "EFKO" Vladislav Romantsev, announced on 11 October, the press service of the company.

"To implement this plan, Russia has it all: modern, high-tech processing facilities, which are already able to process up to 24 million tons of oil, the developed inland port logistics, primarily on the Taman Peninsula, as well as favorable climatic conditions for cultivation of oilseed crops", - said the expert.

The main emphasis in this context, according to V. Romantsev, should be made to increase the gross harvest of oilseeds in Russia. In this regard, the expert said that currently, industry unions, together with the RF Ministry of agriculture develop a program to increase the production of oilseeds, taking into account regional features and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies.

"Its realization will allow by 2025, increase the gross harvest of oilseeds in Russia to 24 million tonnes, which is quite a realistic figure," he said.

In General, according to the expert, to 2025/26 MG the volume of world trade of liquid vegetable oils (excluding tropical oils) can reach 36 million tons, of which about 42% of volume for soybean and 41% for sunflower, 15% for rapeseed, and 3% for other oils.
