It is noted that the main export destinations for the shipment of sunflower seed in the reporting period were India (131 million tons), China (102 thousand tonnes) and the EU (81 thousand tonnes).

At the same time, it is worth noting that in the period from July to September 2016/17 MG sunflower oil exports reached a record 1.85 million tons, 582 tons, or 46% higher than for the same period in the previous season.

In turn, exports of sunflower oil by the end of 2016/17 MG may be 8.8 million tons, the volume of which considerably exceeds the indicators for 2015/16 in the same period (6.8 million tons). It is specified that the growth in export shipments due to increased carry-over stocks of sunflower seed in Ukraine and Russia, as well as high processing volumes oilseeds in these countries.

It is worth noting that in 2016/17 MG of sunflower oil supplies have increased significantly in India to 2.2 million tonnes and in the EU to 1.7 million tons, export share in the world market is 45%, and Egypt – to 0.58 million tons, Iran – up to 0.6 million tons.
