Equal prices for quality food wheat and fodder barley – a rare phenomenon. The last time this occurred in September 2013. Barley prices have risen because of strong demand from importers and lower than anticipated production in Australia. Wheat prices dropped amid increasing competition with other suppliers.

The domestic wheat market was mostly stronger. Average prices for wheat 3, 4 and 5 cells increased by RUB 50 to RUB 8250/ton, 7400 tonne and 5875 RUB/t respectively. Barley remained, on average 5875 RUB/t (Average prices offers EXW European part of Russia, net of VAT).
