In July-February, Ukraine increased grain exports to Turkey 4 times

Leading position in the structure of supply in the current season is maize, exports of which reached 729,9 thousand tons (compared to 1.5 million tons in the same period 2016/17 MG). At the second position in wheat with increased 447,5 thousand tons (27 thousand tons). A traditional leader in terms of supply in Turkey — bran — in the current season is only in third position with exports 385,9 thousand tons (352 million tons). The export of Ukrainian barley in Turkey increased up to 167.6 thousand tonnes in the current marketing year vs. 46.8 thousand tons in July-February 2016/17 MG, and export of peas to 126,2 thousand tons, against 28.2 thousand tonnes.

"In the light of a possible new wave of trade tensions between Turkey and Russia, which is a key supplier of most of these commodities, the Turkish market is becoming more promising for Ukrainian exporters of grain," — says the publication.

According to the Ministry of agrarian policy, as of February 28, 2018, grain exports in 2017-2018 MG made 26,94 million tons.

Grain export in 2016-2017 MG has reached a new absolute record to 43.8 million tons. In addition, the export of corn was 20,703 million tons, wheat — 17,531 million tons, barley — 5,354 million tons. Grain exports in the 2015-2016 MG increased compared to 2014-2015 MG by 13.5% — to a record 39,487 million tons.

According to preliminary data of the State statistics service, grain production in 2017 declined compared with the year 2016 by 7.1% to 61,28 million tons. Including wheat crop of 26.1 million tonnes, corn — 24.1 million tons, barley — 8.3 million tons.
