In the Belgorod region in the village Alekseevka launched the plant on processing of soy. The project worth 3.5 billion roubles implemented LLC Alekseevsky soybean plant.

The enterprise capacity is 660 thousand tons a year. The plant will produce soybean meal, soybean oil and shell.

As informs portal ABIREG.RU some experts doubt that the company will be able to provide the enterprise with raw materials, as soybeans in the black soil regions practically not grown, with this culture is very finicky, and therefore most manufacturers prefer to grow GM culture. The use of GMOs can reduce production costs by 20%.

In the end of last year the General Director of managing company "EFKO" Eugene Lyashenko in interview "sheets" has declared, that the company probably will process the seeds of GMO soybeans. While the Belgorod authorities have repeatedly stated about the readiness to make the region free from GMO area.

The group of companies "EFKO" is a large vertically integrated structure, main activity of which is production and sales of food products. The company produces oil and fat products under the trademarks Altero", " Sloboda", "picnic", "Feast", "Sunny wreath", EFKO FOOD professional, and also produces specialized fat and margarine for food industry. Today the company occupies more than a third of the Russian market of specialized fats of Russia and up to 8% of the market of CIS countries. By the end of 2013, the company increased its sales of specialized fats and other margarine products. Group revenue grew by 14.5%, reaching 50,1 billion rubles, net profit amounted to 417 million.

LLC "Alekseevsky soy plant" is not part of the group of companies "EFKO". But we

are partners in implementing their products. The capacity of their plant

3.5 billion

The position of the group of companies "EFKO" and, respectively, of our partners is

what we all work in the Belgorod region is a zone free from

GMOs, so not processed GMO -- soy.

In the program of development of agriculture of the Russian Federation was, in particular, and

the program of support of genetic engineering. Russian scientists now

doing research, create prototypes of different varieties of GMO.

We are not specialists in the field of genetic modification and genetic engineering,

therefore it is not for us to judge useful if GMO products or harmful. This should

do scientists. But if our state authorities and the Russian scientists

will come to the conclusion that GMOs have, and farmers will grow

GMO, all Russian processors to compete with Western

companies have to produce such products.
