Located in Minneapolis agricultural company reported that the slaughterhouse with the capacity of 1300-1400 heads per day will be closed on Friday, primarily due to the insufficient supply of cattle caused by the desire of farmers to expand the herd of cattle. The company said that the plant for production of ground beef for 200 jobs, located next to the slaughterhouse, will continue.

Cargill purchased a slaughterhouse in 2001. The company employed about 600 people. The company plans to offer the dismissed employees the opportunity to take jobs in other enterprises of the company in the region.

Employees will continue to pay salaries to 28 September, according to the notification on the mass dismissal of the company.

Cargill will continue to honor its obligations to the employees in Milwaukee until the end of the calendar 2014.

The company remained in the U.S. six enterprises for processing of beef, located in California, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania.
