The Danish authorities reported the death of 12 people in the disease outbreak caused by contaminated meat used in the preparation of sausages, reports the BBC Russian service.

In the production of small meat factory, located in the suburbs of Copenhagen, were found dangerous bacteria Listeria. The Ministry of food, agriculture and fisheries of Denmark ordered the closure of the company and to withdraw its products.

In the Ministry of agriculture noted that since September of last year listeriosis sick twenty, fifteen cases occurring in the last two months.

Listeria can lead to fatal diseases, they are especially dangerous for children, the elderly and people with weak immune systems.
