The leadership of the Novosibirsk region and representatives of the Consulate of Kenya agreed on regular deliveries in the region of fruits and vegetables from Africa instead fell under European embargo. This was announced on Wednesday at the press center of ITAR-TASS acting head of Novosibirsk customs Sergei Avdeyev.

"We are working on the delivery of food, especially fruits and vegetables from African countries. Pears, apples, vegetables, zucchini - everything that grows in East Africa, us fresh promise to deliver. Trial shipments scheduled for late September - October", said Avdeev.

According to him, the first batch of goods (0.5-1 ton) will be in the Novosibirsk region transit through Turkey. Further fruits from Kenya, Ethiopia and South Africa will be once a week directly to deliver in the region of a large cargo on Board up to 100 tons.

What "sanctions" products imported into the region

According to Novosibirsk customs, in January-July 2014 from countries hit by retaliatory sanctions Russia in the region were imported 1.7 thousand tons of goods from the list of Smoking - that is, 18% of the total volume of imported food products and agricultural raw materials.

This is mainly apples from Poland (767 tons worth $681 thousand) and pears from Belgium (807 tons, $1.3 million), fresh strawberries from Spain and the Netherlands (23 tons, $68 thousand), seed potatoes from Germany (140 tons, $145,5 thousand).

In addition, small amounts were imported cheese from Cyprus, vegetable seeds from the United States, various food additives and condiments from the EU and Canada.
