Russia may introduce a ban on export of vegetables and fruits of Ukraine
The Rosselkhoznadzor suspects that Ukraine supplies in Russia "sanctions" vegetables and fruits from Europe.

The Rosselkhoznadzor suspects Ukraine re-export to Russia placed under sanctions fruit and vegetables from the EU and may impose restrictions on this group of goods, if the fears are confirmed. This was reported by TASS, the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert.

"Today (14 October) we will send to Ukraine a letter with a request to explain the substantial increase in the supply of plant products - apples, pears, tomatoes and cucumbers after doing our response to economic sanctions", said Dankvert. The Rosselkhoznadzor is going during the week to clarify the situation, and then decide about the possibility of a ban on the import of vegetables and fruit of Ukraine.

A sharp increase in export

The Agency noted that the territorial administration of the closest to Ukraine regions record a sharp increase in the import of plant products to Russia from Ukraine in August and September of 2014 compared to the same period a year earlier.

All imported products are specified as Ukrainian or impersonal, Dankvert said. "We suspect our colleagues in the fact that European integration have already started to work and they are re-placed under sanctions by the European products," he said.

According to the administrations of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Bryansk and Smolensk regions, in August 2014, the importation of tomatoes from Ukraine in the regions increased by 2.2 times compared with August 2013, 1512 tons, in September, almost 2 times before 2276 tons. The importation of apples from Ukraine in the specified regions in August 2014 increased almost 3-fold compared with August a year earlier, up to 1228 tons in the September - half compared with September 2013, 3305 tons, imports of cucumbers in September 2014 increased 4 times to 613 tons.

Also, the Rosselkhoznadzor has been a sharp rise in the import of fruit and vegetables through Ukraine Belgorod region in August and September 2014. Delivery cucumbers were grown in 24 times, 908 tonnes of apples in 14 times, until 1346 tons, pears 8 times, up to 177 tons. The office has recorded a significant increase in the import of products through the Orel and Kursk regions, which previously were not observed.

The transit of goods through third countries in a legal action, provided that the country of the re-exporter shall issue the appropriate re-export certificates confirming the path of the goods and the control of transit conditions and the products.
