Lawyers said that the resolution of the government of China import controversial varieties of maize developed by the biotechnology company Syngenta AG, increases the likelihood that Syngenta will settle lawsuits filed more than 100 American farmers and exporters on compensation of damages from the supply of grain, rejected by Beijing.

Permission granted by the Ministry of agriculture of China, will put an end to the uncertainty about the status of corn Agrisure Viptera and will allow Syngenta to calculate potential losses from failure of supplies. As well as causing a hope for growth of U.S. exports to the rapidly growing market of corn in the world that can support rates.

China is an important market for record corn harvest in the U.S., and demand from China is necessary to prevent further declines in prices for corn, which is already damage income from agriculture of the United States. China, meanwhile, relies on grain from the United States and other exporters to feed its population.

Over the past year, trading in corn between the U.S. and China nearly came to a stop, because Beijing has refused to supply more than 1.2 million tons of U.S. corn because of its pollution prohibited by grade Viptera, known as MIR 162.

In response, the traders of raw materials Cargill Inc. and Archer Daniels Midland Co and dozens of farmers sued Syngenta, demanding damages in the hundreds of millions of dollars due to failures.

This resolution received four years after the filing of the world's largest manufacturer of chemicals for crop and one of the largest seed producers, indicates that Beijing is still open for the adoption of GM crops, despite the public concern about their safety. The last time China was granted permission to import GM grain in June 2013.

Almost 90% of corn in the United States, a leading grain producer in the world, now genetically modified, according to the Ministry of agriculture of the USA, as farmers adopt the technology, which helps to eliminate weeds and control pests.

Permission Beijing MIR 162 gives Syngenta incentive to settle the litigation, because the cessation of Smoking status varieties simplifies the calculation of potential losses, according to lawyers.

Syngenta announced that the trials of MIR 162 baseless and that it does not lay money on the settlement of such claims.

Farmers claim that the refusal of China from the supply put pressure on corn prices and deprived them of their profits. They will have many months to monitor prices after China will allow MIR 162, to see the restoration of the market.
