In 2014 reindeer herding enterprise of the Chukotka Autonomous district has completed slaughter 20 841 deer that live weight is about 1 600 tonnes of meat. In comparison with the year 2013, these figures increased by 52 % and 58%, respectively, or 7 thousand. According to him, the increase in deer meat coming for sale in the shops of Chukotka, in institutions of education and health, due to the implementation of the comprehensive plan for substitution of products previously imported from the United States or other subjects of the Russian Federation.

The district 16 registered agricultural enterprises, in which, according to the results 2014 is listed order 152,7 thousands of deer, which is less than in the beginning of the year by 17.3 thousand. According to the Department, a reduction in the number of livestock is associated with the complex reasons related to weather conditions and organizational activities within enterprises. The main production decline registered in reindeer-breeding farms of the Anadyrsky district. This performance improvement is observed in the enterprises Iultinsky, Chukchi and Bilibino areas.
