Today in the Duma during the "government hour" the head of the Federal Antimonopoly service Igor Artemyev said that an agreement was reached to provide farmers with discounts up to 33% on the purchase of mineral fertilizers. This was stated by the head of the state Duma Committee on agrarian issues Nikolai Pankov.

"This means that the cost of one of the most consumed fertilizers, such as ammonium nitrate, will be approximately 14 thousand rubles, which corresponds to the prices of the beginning of 2014", - said the Deputy.

"For Russian regions this means that farmers will be able to save up to 10 billion rubles during the spring sowing season", - said Pankow.

According to the MP, these measures will provide the farmers with fertilizers at affordable prices and to successfully carry out the sowing campaign. "If this arrangement between suppliers of mineral fertilizers and regions will fail, we will insist on the use of other mechanisms to keep the price increase", - said the head of the Committee.
