From 1 January 2017 in the Russian Federation introduced a national standard GOST R 57022-2016 "organic Products. The procedure of voluntary certification". Its purpose is to establish a uniform regulation for voluntary certification of organic production.

Currently there are numerous labels and certificates claiming that the product is manufactured without the use of food additives, synthetic fertilizers and GMOs. To understand them it is difficult for the consumer, and the market participant. The new standard will facilitate decision-making in choosing authentic organic products.

His project was developed in accordance with Commission Regulation (EC) of 5 September 2008, No. No. 889/2008 with the provisions on the procedure of implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products against the organic production, labelling and control of products (official journal of the European Union of 18 September 2008), the standard of the Codex Alimentarius Commission "Guidelines for the production, processing, labelling and marketing of organic foods (GL 32-1999, Rev. 1-2001)", the basic standards the International Federation of organic agriculture (IFOAM).

The approved standard is intended for use as bodies for certification of organic production and organizations, claiming to hold this certification.

The standard is interconnected with the previously approved national standards GOST R 56104-2014 "food organic. Terms and definitions" and GOST R 56508-2015 "organic Products. The rules of production, storage, transportation".
