Despite the difficult economic situation and a significant increase in consumer prices, coffee sales have not decreased, and only slowed its growth. This is because consumers are tied to coffee and not ready to abandon the consumption of this product even for the sake of economy in the conditions of crisis.

During the study period on Russian market was dominated by imported coffee, its share amounted to an average of 55.0% of the total offer. The share of domestic production in recent years has significantly increased the volume of production increased from 20.4 million tons in 2011 to 37.0 thousand tonnes in 2015.

It should be noted that growing their own coffee in Russia there is no domestic manufacturers engaged only in the processing of imported raw materials. The largest region for the production of coffee in 2015 was the Leningrad oblast, where it was processed and put up 35.5% of the total production. On the territory of the region is a major producer of coffee, "Orimi".

It is assumed that in 2016-2020 coffee sales will continue to grow, the average growth rate during the study period will be 2%. An important factor in the growth of the coffee sales will be the development and expansion of sales channels.

Coffee in Russia is sold through retail trade and the HoReCa sector. Sales through the HoReCa segment are important from the point of view of formation of culture of consumption of coffee in Russia. Sales growth in this sector is largely due to the wide distribution networks of coffee shops.
