The government of Singapore has imposed a ban on supplies of some States in the U.S. live poultry and poultry products because of an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza. This is stated in a statement released by the Department of agricultural products and veterinary medicine.

In particular, the ban on imports for food supply from the States of Wisconsin and Tennessee. "The authorities are in constant contact with American colleagues on the situation around the spread of the virus H7," reads the statement. In addition, representatives of the office stressed that "the supply to Singapore products meets all necessary sanitary requirements".

Highly pathogenic avian influenza recorded in the state of Tennessee for the first time in early March, although previously there was the weaker of the disease outbreak.
