In 2016, revenues of food processing industry amounted to more than 6 trillion rubles. The profitability of production remained at about 3%.

According to preliminary data in the past year for processing domestic producers was sent to 34,2% grain, 67% of milk, 78.4 per cent seeds and oleaginous fruits, as well as 53,5% of sugar beet processed into sugar.

According to the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Levin , despite steady growth in the food processing industry there are a number of problems. Including the necessity of modernization of material-technical base, the lack of affordable and quality raw materials that meet all the requirements of processing enterprises, and low availability of credit resources.

"To ensure sustainable growth of the industry is necessary to increase state support for concessional lending, and enable enterprises of food and processing industry in the list of objects entitled to reimbursement of the direct costs incurred", - said Sergey Levin.

We are talking about how to increase the volume of state support to industry in the framework of preferential short-term lending to 7.5 billion roubles, preferential investment loans and to provide for the reimbursement of direct costs incurred for the enterprises of food and processing industry in the amount of not less than 1.4 billion in 2017.
