The fall in retail trade turnover in March has slowed down in comparison with February (and 2.8%) and January (down 2.3%) in 2017.

At the end of March the market showed the best dynamics since the beginning of 2015. In the first quarter of the turnover of the Russian retail decreased by 1.8% to 6 trillion 735,4 billion.

The sale of food, beverages and tobacco products in March decreased by 1.5%, to 1 trillion 144.1 billion roubles (in February, by 4.2%) in the first quarter – 3% up to 3 trillion 275,3 billion.

Sales of non-food goods increased for the first time since December 2014. In March, the growth amounted to 0.6% (up to 1 billion 208,6 billion). In the first quarter, the turnover of non-food retail decreased by 0.7%, up to 3 trillion 460,1 billion.
