For 4 months 2017 the production of milk in farms of all categories increased to 9 million tons, which is 1.3% above the corresponding period last year.

In January-April 2017 the milk yield per cow in agricultural organizations unrelated to small business entities increased by 104 kg or 5.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2016 and amounted to 2,056 kilograms.

On may 1, 2017 the number of cattle in farms of all categories amounted to 19.5 million head or 98,5% compared to the corresponding period of 2016, including cows – or 8.3 million heads of 98.6%.
