The press-Secretary of Rosselkhoznadzor Julia Melano stated that the decision to conduct an unscheduled inspection without the consent of the prosecution bodies will help to improve the situation with the spread of ASF.

"The situation in Russia with the spread of African swine fever from year to year worsens. Coordination with bodies of Prosecutor's office – a fairly lengthy process, it is necessary to prepare the relevant documents, and justification. During this time the virus is spreading with great speed. In addition, often we do get rejected a certain company. Conducting unscheduled inspections without spending time on coordinating this issue with the Prosecutor's office will significantly increase the security of enterprises, as in the case of an ASF outbreak was registered producers have to destroy all the livestock, it's a huge loss", — said Yulia in a few words.

According to the head of the Executive Committee of the National meat Association Sergei Yushin, the manufacturers advocate the extension of the powers of the veterinary authorities to prevent spread of ASF.
