The next three years will be a record for the dairy industry in Russia thanks to the unprecedented support of the state. This was stated by the Minister of agriculture Alexander Tkachev channel "Russia 24".

According to the Minister, the dairy industry in Russia is going through difficult times, but despite this, there is a small rise due to government support measures.

"State support measures that are currently being implemented within the framework of a large dairy project in the country, is unprecedented. We never supported our processors, milk producers: the reimbursement of direct capital costs for the construction of dairy farms, and preferential loans, and subsidies per litre of milk. And, of course, the price is quite acceptable today", — said the Minister.

Thanks to government support, the payback period of projects in the dairy industry declined, and the situation with the arrival of investors in the sector has improved, he said. "If you carry on actively its production, investing in dairy industry, it is possible to obtain the opposite effect, to recoup the project for 6-8 years. Which is acceptable, because before that came out 15 years or more. Of course, this made the business unattractive and deeply unprofitable, the arrival of investors in the dairy industry was minimal. Today the situation is much improved, and I hope that in 2017-2020 years will be a record for us in terms of development of the dairy industry", — said Alexander Tkachev.

According to the agriculture Ministry, production of raw milk in farms of all categories in Russia in 2016 decreased by 0.2% compared to last year and amounted to 30.7 million tons. However, milk production at agricultural enterprises grew by 2.2% and made up 15.04 kt. In the farms, milk production was 6.1% – to 2.16 million tons.
