For four months, agricultural enterprises increased the sale of grain 3.9% (12 million tons), livestock and poultry – by 3.2% (to 3.4 mln tons), milk – by 3.4% (to 4.8 million tonnes), eggs – by 1.9% (to 10.4 billion units).

Agricultural enterprises in April 2017 increased grain sales by 3.5% compared with the same period last year, to 3.1 million tons, Rosstat said on Friday. The pace of sales growth slowed compared with 11% in March. Sales volumes compared to March fell by 13.7%.

Sales of livestock and poultry (in live weight) in April increased by 4.2% compared to last year's figure, to 0.9 million tons (compared to March decreased by 1.8%).

In addition, Russian farmers increased in April the sales of milk (4.1%, up 1.3 million tons).

Sales of eggs fell by 2.4%, to 2.66 billion units.
